Stories heal. The power for storytelling to provide a salve for our wounds is indisputable. But stories also have the power to provide a bridge between ourselves and our families, friends, communities and even future generations. Stories have been building empathy and understanding in cultures around the world for millennia.
In this six-week class, we will immerse ourselves in the healing power of story. We will read selections from anthropologists, psychologists, writers and healers and apply what we’re learning to writing our own healing story.
The workshop will culminate with each participant sharing their work and receiving feedback. This is a discussion based, generative writing workshop and writers of all levels and background are welcome.
There are two sections of this workshop. They will occur online using Zoom (link will be provided after registration).
Two scholarships are available for BIPOC. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
