HI, I'M SARAH
I BELIEVE OUR STORIES WILL SAVE US
I am:

rabble rouser

the Creatologist in Chief at this joint
I believe creating is an innately human act. I also believe that by nourishing and nurturing our relationship to creating we can be better humans. When we are better humans, the whole world benefits. I help people make space for creativity and thereby experience their own version of personal growth. I support people to share stories that heal.
I work with individuals one on one, and lead small groups and retreats. I served as the Writer-in-Residence at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts from 2018-2020. I have an MFA in fiction writing from Goddard College, an MS in rural sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a certificate in Organizational Change from UMC's Truman School of Public Affairs and a BA in creative writing from Webster University.
I met Sarah at her Creative Oasis workshop where I publically proclaimed that I did not have an ounce of creativity. Within a couple hours under her inspiring guidance, I made a kite out of construction paper and Play-Doh. Creating that kite was my first step to living a fuller healthier life. Over the last year, I have participated in Sarah’s Story Medicine and Deep Dive workshops and they have been invaluable to my life’s journey. Through her curriculum, partnership, and playful direction, I have found that creativity is a journey inward toward myself. At times opening me to the pain that I needed to experience to be healed and at other times freeing me to grow.
