HI, I'M SARAH
mess of contradictions
I curse a lot. I don't have a poker face. I like to write with good old fashioned pen and paper. I am sometimes a runner, yogi, artist and soup maker. I haven't killed a plant yet this year (it's still early).
I believe in the inner transformation the act of creating ignites. The common thread of my career is witnessing stories. From working as a bartender, a feature writer, a youth development mentor, and a writing coach, I am consistently dazzled and humbled by the power of a simple story.
Currently, I serve as the Writer-in-Residence at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts. I have an MFA in fiction writing from Goddard College, an MS in rural sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BA in creative writing from Webster University.
